Painting Gyms- A Twist on the New Year’s Resolution
As 2017 came to a close, Spray Finishes worked to complete a brand new gym at a high school in Westchester County, NY. The Walter C. Johnson Center for Health & Wellness was built to provide the Hackley School a new home for its excellent physical education and athletics programs, along with their growing health and wellness initiatives. There was a great deal of work put into completing the project to make sure students could use for the start of 2018.
This multi-million-dollar construction project required Spray Finishes to spray paint the gym’s 12 basketball hoop support beams and baseboards. This was originally done with a powder coat off site, however, during transport and installation, the paint job was damaged. This required us to return to the site and repaint all 12 hoops to ensure an even finished product. Luckily, electrostatic spray painting allows each job we complete to be done efficiently and with satisfaction.
Spray Finishes was also contracted to paint the long poles that formed the structure of the batting cage setup used within the same gym space. While doing so, we made sure to protect the new gym floor. Even with minimal overspray from electrostatic spray painting, you can never be too careful.
